Dear Sirs:

We are obliged for your letter of January 21st, dealing with the subject of a prospective agreement between your Company on the one hand and Messrs. Sanders Rehders & Co. Ltd. and ourselves; jointly on the other. Such an arrangement would be quite satisfactory to us and we cabled you immediately asking for the exact terms.

Through Mr. Sanders we received the reply that the matter was in course of negotiation and further learnt that he is still in active communication with our London friends. As the whole matter is in their hands you will readily understand that we prefer to refrain from any comments and leave developments entirely to them.

Mr. Sanders' letter of January 27th to us arrived some days after your cover and had the former been in our possession, we should not have troubled you with a direct cable. However, at the time of despatch, we were under the impression that this step was necessitated by the nature of your letter, and since you ask for a candid expression of opinion we may add that the whole question of our retaining your agency must obviously depend on the nature of the

Dear Sirs:

We are obliged for your letter of January 21st, dealing

with the subject of a prospective agreement between your Company on

the one hand and Messrs. Sanders Rehders & Co. Ltd. and ourselves;

jointly on the other. Such an arrangement would be quite satisfactory

to us and we cabled you 1:mediately asking for the exact terus.

Through Mr. Sanders we received the reply that the matter was in

course of negotiation and further learnt that he is still in active

communication with our London friends. As the whole matter is in

their hands you will readily understand that we prefer to refrain from

any comments and leave developments entirely to them.

Kr. Sanders' letter of January 27th to us arrived some

days after your cover and had the former been in our possession, we

should not have troubled you with a direct cable. However, at the

time of despatah, we were under the impression that this step was
